FAQ about FE Colleges in the UK

Studying in the UK in Form 5 - Foundation A-level

HNC is equivalent to a first-year university course. After completion, you can go on to HND or Foundation Degree, and then spend another 2 years to complete the last year at a British university . HNC course options are less academic and more practical subjects, such as business, engineering, computer, hotel management, tourism, design, etc.

BTEC is actually equivalent to A level. After completing the 2-year course, you can go to university. BTEC emphasizes projects and homework, and less academics and exams. Students can click on the BTEC article to learn more about course selection and grading mechanism.
