UK Common Entrance

1. Common Entrance Pre Test ( taken in the first semester of Primary 6 to determine whether you are eligible to take the 11+ or 13+ exam in the future )

• Common Entrance Pre-Test is an age adaptive online test
• Adaptive learning means that advanced students will naturally face more challenging questions, while those at a lower level will receive appropriate content. The system assesses each student's level and reports scores to the school based on their age.
• CE Pre-Test includes verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, English and Maths
• Private primary schools in the UK will prepare students for the Common Entrance Pre-Test. The Common Entrance requirements are more extensive and in-depth than the National Curriculum of UK government primary schools.

2. 11+ ( English , Mathematics , Science in the second semester of Primary 6 , admission in Year 7 )

• 11+ includes verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, English and Maths

3. 13+ ( taken in January or May-June of Form 2 or Year 8 , and admitted in Year 9 )

• The score requirement for 13+ Common Entrance varies for each UK private secondary school , generally requiring 55-60%. Each school is responsible for marking the papers.
• CE will register you for the exam and arrange a 13+ exam of appropriate difficulty by the private school you applied to . Only the private school you applied to will see your completed exam paper .
• CE 2.5 hours, each applicant can only take the test once a year.
• CE 13+ English, mathematics and science are compulsory subjects for 13+. Some British private schools require you to take European languages ​​for GCSE (Year 10, 11), so you will be required to take French, German or Spanish 13+.
• There are three levels of difficulty for 13+ science, European languages ​​and mathematics. Level 1 is the easiest and should be manageable by students who have completed Form 1. Level 2-3 is at the UK GCSE level. Generally, private schools in the UK require a minimum of 55% of Level 2.
