Summary
Common Entrance is a required exam for British private schools or British public schools . If you need to prepare for the exam because of immigration to the UK, please contact us.
There are 3 types of Common Entrance
1. Common Entrance Pre Test ( taken in the first semester of Primary 6 to determine whether you are eligible to take the 11+ or 13+ exam in the future )
- Common Entrance Pre-Test is an age adaptive online test
- Adaptive learning means that advanced students will naturally face more challenging questions, while those at a lower level will receive appropriate content. The system assesses each student's level and reports scores to the school based on their age.
- CE Pre-Test includes verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, English and Maths
- Private primary schools in the UK will prepare students for the Common Entrance Pre-Test. The Common Entrance requirements are more extensive and in-depth than the National Curriculum of UK government primary schools.
2. 11+ ( English , Mathematics , Science in the second semester of Primary 6 , admission in Year 7 )
- 11+ includes verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, English and Maths
3. 13+ ( taken in January or May-June of Form 2 or Year 8 , and admitted in Year 9 )
