• Decision Making, 29 items, 31 minutes
• Quantitative Reasoning, 36 items, 25 minutes
• Abstract Reasoning, 50 items, 26 minutes
• Situational Judgement, 66 items, 26 minutes

According to Maxway 's experience, test preparation courses are most effective in improving scores in Decision Making, Abstract Reasoning, and Situational Judgement because they involve more skills, while Quantitative Reasoning and Abstract Reasoning are more related to a person's English and math foundation.

Maxway's 2-week preparation course will help you get familiar with UCAT skills. You also need to practice pacing around the clock! After each part of the course, you will be assessed for the score you can get, so that you can better understand the pace.

• UCAT Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, score: 1200-3600 points.
• The scores for Situational Judgement are in band 1-4. Band 4 will be directly disqualified by the British Medical College . A few British Medical Colleges will give generous extra points to Band 1 Situational Judgement!

What UCAT score is required to be admitted to a British medical school on the Hong Kong government's list of overseas medical schools ?

• Most British medical schools use the UCAT scores of previous years as a basis. Generally, British medical schools on the list of overseas medical schools recognized by the Hong Kong government require a UCAT score of more than 50%. As for the UCAT Percentile, it fluctuates every year. The UCAT Percentile for that year will only be known at the end of each year ( after the deadline of British medical schools ). In recent years, the UCAT score has also increased significantly.
• A small number of British medical schools will give extra points to students with high Verbal Reasoning scores, because according to data, students with high verbal ability perform better in medical schools.
• Scottish medical schools, such as the University of Edinburgh or the University of Glasgow , are on the list of overseas medical schools recognized by the Hong Kong government , but their UCAT score threshold is not something that students of average ability can cope with. Since 2019, the Scottish government has implemented a quota limit on overseas students applying for medical schools, encouraging local medical schools to accept more local students because they are more likely to stay in Scotland to work after graduation to face the problem of an aging population.
• Many British medical schools do not use the Situational Judgement score to assess the applicant's ability, but there are also some British medical schools that give generous bonus points to applicants with high Situational Judgement scores .

• You can take the UCAT from mid-May to September every year.
• October 15th Deadline for the UK Medical Academy
• The UK Medical School will receive your UCAT results in early November and conduct interviews in December.
• You will receive your UCAT results within 24 hours of completing the exam, but you cannot retake the exam in the same year.
