Summary

It takes 3-6 years to immigrate to Canada through study, which is faster than Australia . Most Canadian study immigration programs require 1 year of Canadian work experience, so students who have completed the course need to apply for a PGWP work permit. Please contact Maxway for more information.

Why do Canadian student immigrants need PGWP?

  • PGWP allows employers to process your contract in the same way as hiring Canadian citizens, without having to submit LMIA to the Canadian government (LMIA requires employers to prove that they cannot find qualified employees locally, so they need to hire non-Canadian citizens)
  • If you have 1 year of Canadian NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, 3 technical work experience, you can apply for a variety of Canadian immigration programs
  • Even if some Provincial Nomination Programs ( PNP ) do not require 1 year of Canadian work experience, such as Canadian Master Immigration , certain MPNP , AAIP , SINP applicants, etc., you may want to "pass the day" by working while waiting for the Canadian PR process, and PGWP is essential.

PGWP eligibility? PGWP duration?

  • Students holding a valid Canadian student visa who complete a post-secondary course of more than eight months at a Designated Learning Institute (DLI) of the Canadian government can obtain a Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP).
  • The duration of the PGWP is the same as the Canadian (Post-Secondary) course you enrolled in, which is a minimum of 8 months and a maximum of 3 years. A 2-year course will get you a 3-year PGWP, and a 4-year Canadian degree will only get you a 3-year PGWP.

If my course is 2 years but I finish it in 1 year, is the PGWP for 1 year or 2 years?

  • 2 years

I completed my associate degree or high diploma in Hong Kong and then went to a Canadian university to complete the remaining 2 years of degree courses. Is the PGWP 4 years or 2 years?

  • 2 years

PGWP to Canadian PR, process and requirements?

Whether you are applying for Express Entry or PNP provincial nomination , you can get it done in 2 years after graduation at the earliest and 3 years at the most. The following are the immigration procedures and requirements for various Canadian courses.

Do I need to use up my PGWP before applying for Canadian PR?

  • Unnecessary

I plan to complete an associate degree at a Canadian college and then go on to university. Can I get a 2-year PGWP after completing both courses?

No, PGWP is valid for one person, regardless of your academic qualifications or major. Since few jobs require an associate degree, it is recommended that associate degree holders complete their degree before applying for PGWP. Regardless of province, grades, or subject, as long as you complete a post-secondary course of more than 8 months at a DLI, you can obtain a PGWP?

  • Right

There are several types of courses in Canada . If you want to compare the admission standards, fees, immigration advantages, and majors, the details are as follows:

a. Degree Holders:

b. Secondary school graduates

Is there any difference in salary and position between PGWP job seekers and locals with the same education level?

Both the federal and provincial governments of Canada stipulate that employers cannot lower the annual salary of PGWP holders below the minimum market price set by the government, but how can you improve your bargaining power? What should I do if my PGWP expires before I get Canadian PR?

You can apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) to continue working until you get Canadian PR.
