There are 11 high schools in Scotland that offer high school boarding, 5 of which offer Scottish Higher courses, all of which have an average of more than 75% of students getting A. The Scottish Higher course can
- Graduate in 5 years and then study 4 years at the University of Scotland ; or
- Graduate in 6 years, then study 3 years at a UK university or 3 years at a Scottish university
- Scottish secondary schools offering the Scottish Higher curriculum: Dollar Academy (girls’ school) , Kilgraston School (girls’ school) , Lomond School , St George's School for Girls (girls’ school)
- Six Scottish secondary schools offer A level or IB , all of which take seven years to graduate: Fettes College , Gordonstoun School , Loretto School , Strathallan School , Merchiston Castle School (boys' school) , Glenalmond College
