UK Occupational Therapist Registration

To become a registered occupational therapist in the UK, one only needs to complete a 3-year degree or a 2-year master's degree to apply for a license from the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) . Graduates can return to Hong Kong to practice with a license without taking an exam.

Both the UK and Hong Kong require occupational therapists to hold a course accredited by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) , which means that they have sufficient clinical practice hours. Graduates of occupational therapy in the UK can apply for a Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) license. Holding a relevant UK occupational therapy license means that you have an IELTS score of 7.0, which exceeds the requirements of the Hong Kong Occupational Therapist Management Committee .
