International Year One

If you are in Form 6 and wish to major in business, architecture, engineering, psychology, law, tourism, politics, life sciences, computer science, etc. at a UK university , but you estimate your IB score to be 24-30 or have 2 elective subjects in DSE or an IELTS score of 5.5, you can take International Year 1 to study in a famous UK university, which is equivalent to Year 1. After completing International Year 1, you can move on to Year 2, and both courses will be completed in 3 years.

In other words, International Year 1 allows students with an IB score of 24-30 or a DSE score of 332 to complete a degree from a famous British university in three years with an IELTS score of 5.5.

The admission targets, requirements, university and subject choices, and graduation time of UK Foundation and International Year 1 are as follows:

a. UK Foundation

• Admission Target : Form 5 or above. Some UK universities require Form 6 to choose their subjects.
• Admission requirements : 4 subjects or average pass in Form 5, DSE 221 or IB 20-24, IELTS : 4.5 or above
• University Choices : 7 UK universities without Foundation: Oxford University, Cambridge University, University College London, University of Edinburgh, University of St. Andrews , King's College London, Imperial College, other UK universities have Foundation
• Subject selection : Basically no restrictions. You can study medicine, law, dentistry, or veterinary medicine. You are welcome to contact Maxway for matters such as upgrading from Foundation to Year 1.
• How many years does it take to graduate : 4 years. If students need to study Foundation only for IELTS , some British universities can adjust the Foundation time according to the IELTS level. b. International Year 1 in the UK

• Admission Target : Form 6 or above
• Admission requirements : DSE 332 or IB 20-24 points, IELTS : 5.5 or above
• University choice : Top 50 UK universities
• Subject options : Business, Architecture, Engineering, Psychology, Law, Tourism, Politics, Life Sciences, Computer and other non-licensed Health Science subjects.
• How many years does it take to graduate : 3 years. International Year 1 will not shorten the course time just because of a high IELTS score.
