Deadline to apply for Canadian universities spans from mid-January to March, hence, it will be too late to start applying after DSE.
Also, Canadian universities are looking for all 6 DSE subjects with average Level 4 (i.e. 24 points), this minimum requirement may be too high for those looking for back up options in case of unsuccessful applications to universities in Hong Kong.
Furthermore, IELTS 6.5 (no band score below 6.0) is required.
For those interested in applying to Canadian universities but do not have the marks or cannot meet the deadline can opt for Foundation / International Year 1 (IY1) programs.
Foundation accepts students finished F.5; whereas International Year 1 (IY1) accepts students finished F.6.
Foundation adds another year to a 4 year university degree program.
IY1 is equivalent to university Year 1 and provides guaranteed transfer to the same university for Year 2 with a passing or above academic requirements.
For students that finished higher diploma / associate degree wanting to transfer to Canadian universities may have September or May intake. Students will have to apply 6 months ahead and credits transfer will be evaluated after admission decision is made.
[Inquiries on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays will generally be replied to the next working day.]
