Types of Community Colleges – Public & Private

Public Canadian community colleges require DSE 2-3 in relevant subjects.  Private Canadian community colleges have more flexible admission requirements but program types are not as wide as public colleges.

Course Types of Canadian Community Colleges

Canadian community colleges offer different types of programs to fulfill the needs of different types of students.

For those who would like to transfer to 3rd year university after 2 years in community college should go to colleges in the west coast (e.g. British Columbia)

Colleges in east coast (e.g. Ontario) are perfect in preparing for employable graduates in fields say early childhood education, hotel, animation, etc.  These colleges offer certificate and diploma programs for post-secondary or post degree students.  Students invest a minimum of 1 year of study to apply for the Post Graduate Work Permit program, where he / she can apply for immigration during employment in Canada.
